Most media hosts offer a "Show Player" or Jukebox of some sort that allows you to display multiple episodes. This is a great tool for those who want to binge your show. They press play, and off it goes one episode right after the other.
I'm seeing more and more people make a single page on their website (no blog posts for episodes) and feel that a show player is the best thing since sliced bread. What they need to know is they are missing out on being found by Google. While that player appears on your website, it's actually (in the eyes of Google) NOT on your website.
My advice is to create a blog post for every episode and have an episode player on each post. This allows you to make a great headline for the blog post/episode to capture people's attention. It allows you to focus on keywords for that post.
When people find that episode and sit and listen, this boosts your "time on site" and Google sees this as a good thing and might start sending more traffic your way.
So I'm not "Anti-show player" I just don't think it should be the ONLY way to consume your content (and blog posts attract Google much better - and that right now is the #1 way people are finding podcasts)
